March 27, 1849 (Tuesday)

The weather today exceeded the most sanguine expectations as to being unpleasant.  Storming, blowing, snowing, and towards evening raining.  Such a storm has not occurred in March for many years notwithstanding which the “firemen” had their parade spite of snow and mud looked very well.  Was in house.

The firemen’s parade was described on March 26.
