March 31, 1849 (Saturday)

Beautiful day this—such as one as we have not enjoyed for some time.  Chestnut Street was thronged with beauty in the afternoon.

Went to see Murdock this evening.

Murdock is the actor, James Edward Murdoch, who was ending his run at the Walnut Street Theater with two plays, Robbers and a farce called Slashers and Crashers. Alexina Fisher was Mr. Murdoch’s co-star.  Nathan first saw the two popular actors on March 6.
