June 1, 1849 (Friday)

Summer has arrived, this is the first, and a tolerably fair specimen of summer it has been clear and warm.  A most lovely evening—bright moonlight.

Took a promenade with Miss F—y C—t and Miss A—T—n

The first woman Nathan mentions is Frances “Fanny” Lea Clement, Girls Librarian at the Apprentice Library. The second woman is a mystery.
