July 12, 1849 (Thursday)

Hot weather again, the thermometer getting pretty well up towards 100˚.

Stopped at the Apprentices’ Library today and saw Miss F—y C—t.  Took a walk this evening to an ice cream saloon.

The Apprentices’ Library in 1849 was only open to girls on Thursday afternoons.  For more information on the library, see the post for April 21.
