Contrary to expectations, this has been a delightful day—visited the Tildens—found them tolerably well, spent the day very pleasantly—returned to the city this evening.
Went to St. Philip’s this evening—Neville was absent—some young man officiated—didn’t like him.
For more information on the Tildens and the Delaware County farm at which they were staying, see the entry for July 4.
The rector at St. Philip’s Church in 1849 was the Reverend Edmund Neville, D.D. See the entry for January 21.
