August 3, 1849 (Friday)

Was hunting pretty much all day with brother Henry.  Grey squirrels are tolerably plenty in this region of country.  Had intended returning to Norristown today, but was persuaded to leave it until next Monday.

William Henry Beekley, Nathan’s younger brother was born about 1829. He worked as a mason and as a carpenter in Chester County and in Philadelphia. In 1853, he married the former Tamson Nyman (1835–1896).  Henry and Tamson had five children, Millard Fillmore, William H.H. (Henry Harrison, perhaps?), Clara, Nathan S., and John.  Little Nathan, who was one month old on the 1860 census, is not listed with the family in 1870. Also, Henry apparently died before 1880. Tamson is listed as a widow on the 1880 U.S. census and in the 1881 Philadelphia directory.
