October 27, 1849 (Saturday)

It seems as if we had “Indian Summer” now.

Went to the Exhibition for the last time this afternoon, after which I came to Norristown, where I am at present.  Called at McKays this evening, but they were out, the same also at Krauses.

Nathan often mentions the McKays, that is, sisters Elizabeth and Sarah.  The Krauses are likely the daughters of Judge David Krause, L.L. D. (1800–1871), Ann E. (b. ca. 1831) and Emily C. (b. ca. 1833).
