Pleasant day. The cholera is becoming tolerably severe in this city now there being 48 cases and 18 deaths today. Took a short walk this evening.

Delightful weather—pleasantly cool. The cholera is here at length and that pretty severely too; there having been up to one o’clock today, 43 cases and 12 deaths, during the previous 24 hours.  Passed the evening at home as usual.
